Ridge Wallet & KeyCase | EDC Gear Review
Ridge Wallet & KeyCase | EDC Gear Review
Founded in 2013, Ridge is a fast-growing company dedicated to simplifying your everyday carry. With so many slim, front-pocket wallets and key solutions on the market, it’s tough to make a decision. Here are my in-depth thoughts on two essentials from Ridge: the Ridge Wallet and Ridge KeyCase.

The Ridge Wallet is what put Ridge on the map. Their design team knew they could build a better wallet suited for the modern plastic (and metal) card lifestyle we’ve all adapted to. Slim, handsome, functional, and RFID-safe. It’s built to keep up and last.
The KeyCase came later, aiming to build a better way to organize and carry keys. Out with the jingle, in with the mingle (because you’ll be looking sharp without that wad of keys hanging off your jeans).
Whether you’re a gear enthusiast like me or simply looking for a practical upgrade for your bloated old wallet, Ridge is worth considering. Read on to see why Ridge’s EDC products are worth the investment.

Design
“It’s about carrying less but always having what you need.” This line perfectly encapsulates the Ridge's design philosophy. My wallet used to be filled with non-essentials: no pictures, no store loyalty cards, and no receipts. I now carry 7 cards regularly, which feels perfect for Ridge Wallet:
- Metal credit card
- Debit card
- License & Global Entry card
- Health insurance & FSA cards
- Library card
The Ridge Wallet holds the cards securely without pushing its limits. Though it can hold up to 12 cards, I find that makes it slightly harder to fan the cards out efficiently. The Wallet itself feels solid and well-built. Not heavy, but sturdy. It’s essentially two halves of machined metal held together by a responsive elastic strap.
I chose the Titanium Wallet in Matte Gunmetal. It’s sharp and doesn't attract fingerprints. You have the option for a money clip or a cash strap. I picked the cash strap for versatility. Overall, the design truly lives up to Ridge's promise of a 21st-century wallet.
Everyday Carry
Switching to a front-pocket wallet was the biggest adjustment for me. Initially uncomfortable, I quickly realized the benefits: added security, comfort, and no more wear and tear on my pants. The wallet feels more secure in the front pocket and doesn’t cause the unsightly stretch marks that back-pocket wallets do.
Durability
I've used the wallet daily, even taking it on a 5-week trip to Europe. It performed perfectly, holding up to the constant use of cards and IDs. The built-in RFID blocking technology proved invaluable. After nearly 3 months, the wallet remains in great condition. The elastic has held up well, and though I did get a minor scratch, it’s barely noticeable. The engraved initials look as clear as day one.

Design
The Ridge KeyCase is perfect for someone who dislikes carrying keys. It keeps them stashed away and easy to access when needed. Similar to the wallet, it consists of two halves of machined aluminum joined by a flexible connector. A screw mechanism allows adjusting for the number of keys, making it user-friendly.
I carry 4 keys in it, and it’s just barely thicker than the wallet. It also has a clip for securing inside your pocket or bag. It’s sleek and coordinates well with my car’s keyfob.

Everyday Carry
It matches perfectly with my keychain gear: Nite Ize DoohicKey® Key Tool, Subaru keyless entry keyfob, and a black loop strap. Given the keyless entry, the KeyCase usually stays in my jacket pocket or backpack, making pocket fit less of a concern.
Durability
Structurally, the KeyCase is perfect. The screw holding the keys remains tight, and the D ring connector is intact. However, the finish shows more wear compared to the wallet, likely due to different metals and constant metal-to-metal contact. It’s not a dealbreaker but worth noting. The engraving has held up well, maintaining its clarity.
Ridge Wallet & KeyCase Value
Overall, both products are impressive, but the Wallet stands out as exceptional. Its durability, slim profile, and RFID safety make it the best I’ve used. The price is justified considering the quality and functionality. Visit the links below to get your hands on a Ridge Wallet or KeyCase and consider Ridge’s kits to save up to 30% when bundling.
