When choosing a biodegradable resin supplier, it's essential to address common questions to ensure quality and reliability. Here, we provide insights into the top 10 most asked questions about biodegradable resin suppliers.
There are many questions you might have when starting out with biodegradable resin or any other eco-friendly material. We provide comprehensive guidance through several channels:
- Biodegradable Resin Blogs
- Biodegradable Resin YouTube Channel
- Biodegradable Resin Courses
If your question isn’t listed below, explore these channels first. If you still can't find the answer, use our website's contact form to connect with our team. We have a small but dedicated team, so responses might be delayed outside regular working hours. Rest assured, we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
For efficiency, please avoid sending multiple messages if possible. All messages consolidate at a central platform, and multiple queries can slow down our response.
Here are the key questions we will address in this blog:
- Why is my resin cloudy/misty?
- How can I stop getting bubbles?
- Why are my projects not curing?
- Is biodegradable resin food safe?
- Can I use biodegradable resin for deep pours?
- Can I use biodegradable resin on countertops?
- Will biodegradable resin yellow over time?
- Can I use biodegradable resin on outside projects?
- Is biodegradable resin safe to use?
- Is biodegradable resin cruelty-free/ethical?
Note: The answers provided here are specific to our brand of biodegradable resin. If you're using another brand, please refer to their specific guidelines as formulations can vary.
1 - Why is my resin cloudy/misty?
Temperature plays a crucial role in the appearance of biodegradable resin. If the resin becomes cold, it can form micro bubbles, resulting in a cloudy or misty appearance and making it thicker and harder to mix.
To prevent this, store the resin at a temperature of 70-75°F (21-24°C). If the resin becomes cold, place it next to a radiator or in warm water before use. Ensure the lids are on to avoid moisture intrusion. Experiment with water temperature and duration to achieve the best results. For further tips on temperature considerations, refer to our blog on working with biodegradable resin in varying temperatures:

2 - How can I stop getting bubbles?
Larger bubbles in your resin might form due to fast mixing, pouring from a height, or air being trapped in your project. Mix your resin and hardener slowly for 3-5 minutes and pour the mixture close to your project, pouring slowly to reduce bubble formation.
Despite these precautions, bubbles might still appear due to air trapped in your project. Using a heat torch or alcohol spray can help eliminate these bubbles. Note: Never use a heat torch and alcohol spray simultaneously due to safety risks.

3 - Why are my projects not curing?
If your project isn't curing within 24 hours, extend the curing time or review your techniques. Ensure the workspace is at an appropriate temperature (70-75°F or 21-24°C). If needed, increase the temperature and allow an additional 24 hours for curing.
Review your mixing process: Ensure equal volumes of resin and hardener, and mix for 3-5 minutes to initiate the exothermic reaction. Projects of different thicknesses may require varying curing times. If basic techniques were wrong initially, you might need to restart the project.
4 - Is biodegradable resin food safe?
Once cured, biodegradable resin can safely be used as a food contact surface. Third-party tests confirm it does not leach harmful substances into food. For comprehensive safety guidance, refer to our Safety Data Sheets:

5 - Can I use biodegradable resin for deep pours?
Biodegradable resin is typically designed for coating projects, up to a depth of 1/4 inch. For thicker projects, use layering techniques. Check our blog on how to use biodegradable resin for deeper projects:

6 - Can I use biodegradable resin on countertops?
Yes, biodegradable resin is suitable for countertops due to its heat resistance. However, it's advisable to practice on smaller projects first to perfect your techniques. Refer to our blog for more guidance:

7 - Will biodegradable resin yellow over time?
Our biodegradable resin is designed to remain clear for decades, containing UV Stabilizers and Advanced Additives to prevent yellowing. However, avoid direct sunlight to maintain clarity. Reflections from colorful inclusions are not a sign of yellowing.
